we flew in by plane with our castleford passports to doncaster. when we got there we were all looking fabulous and ready to rock but thought we landed in the local crematorium audience very subdued not like a usual topgun gig but by the end of the night we got em rocking. def leppard animal song good choice for the band suited pauls voice amazing. nice to hear angie singing on manfred man rock it girl. good to hear all the band on top form. enjoyed your celebrity singer tom jones wiggling his midrift. the bastards were raring to go to george gig on our own stomping ground. we are leaving our makeup nail polish and outfits on all week till lion gig so we dont have to get ready again but by that time we will look a little worse for wear but will still be as fab as normal. paul hope you get well soon would you like the lady bastards to rub your chest with vapour rub and get rid of those dog germs for you x x x

At the Pheasant Pluckers bike rally,back in Nov., thought you were pretty good,until you started to do UFO, then thort "these are REALLY good, and so tight ", but to finish on Journey's "Don't Stop Believin",took me back in time to another rally - in 25 years of rallying you guys are the best band yet!!!

had a wonderfull evening at fryston club the highlight of the night was the bingo fantastic! was good to see drummer with double base he played excellent. mother bastard loves when keyboard player does highway star can he play burn. lynne says richard rocks playing music was my first love. angie looked fabulous rock em girl (bloody david bowie just come on radio while im writing this) paul have you learnt any suzi quattro yet. look forward to seeing you again wow what a band you rock the bastards custards x x x

Topgun at the Bellhouse produced yet another awesome gig. The sound was spot on as usual, the band were in great form, and the set list was superb. Tunes from Bowie and Mott The Hoople were outstanding, loved 'Highway Star', and of course the classic 'Stairway To Heaven'. Keep it live and keep it rockin guys, Can't wait for the next time.

Hey great gig last night guys at the George V club, really enjoyed listening to you guys, awesome stuff, looking forward to seeing you again in January. I closed my eyes for a second during Highway star and thought Ian Gillan was in the house. That tune rocks, keep doing that one guys.

lady bastards here excellent gig at lion loved when you did highway star can you do perfect strangers please. richard you were on top form you rocked you looked really young and lovely in your cowboy boots think you should donate them to the bastards. all the band plays excellent together really tight musically superb. loved paul when he did black hole sun fantastic song but think he should be sacked and the bastards will replace him. look forward to seeing you at the george if we dont get made into roadkill by idiots driving white vans

ToC, 2009/02/04. First time in a long time that i've been on this site (usually on MYSPACE TOPGUN) anyway I must comment on the LION gig (27/02/09), it was without doubt (on reflection) the best live gig from an "amateur" band, and the term "amateur" is not an insult or a belittling statement, I have EVER been to! My friend, the Captain uses the term "semi pro" which is perhaps half right!!! To use the term "professional" would be untrue because it's your hobby and not a full time occupation.....I digress! The LION gig stands out for many reasons, the sound was absolutely 100% spot on, your presentation was 100% dead right, instrumentally you were perfect (unless my untrained ear missed something) for a LIVE gig, the vocals were brilliant, you all treated the audience with the respect that they deserved and the audience returned the compliment by begging for more (even after the 2 3/4 hour marathon), the effort you all put in (including SLICK) was outstanding and overall the performance was beyond belief!!! I may compliment some bands for an above average performance (the RAKKITEERS are not in that category!) but I never, ever take the time or effort to say this much about a gig....it was simply magnificent, and would put some true professional bands to shame!!! Rock on TOPGUN and welcome back! Oh! and GIRLIE added that extra mmmmmmmmmmm too!!! The gig will go down in LION folklore!

What a fantastic gig at the Broadfield.A totally stunning performance that could only come from these guys (and girlie, first and foremost of course) back together and working as a team,performing the magic as only they can.It was quite a moving experience and the audience reflected that totally.Welcome back and good luck for the future
